Gotland Charter: Recent Activities

At Gotland Charter, we have recently had two big events. One was a two day regatta and the other was a regatta and team building activities day.

The two day regatta was a team building experience for a company that came from Italy. We used four boats for this regatta with about five or six people on each boat. The first day was used as a practice day. On this day all of the participants learned the ropes of the boat and practiced what they would be doing in competition the following day. On the second day the teams stayed the same, for the most part, and we held two races. The boats were paired up together, so the times and places for each boat were recorded at the end of each race. The teams with the least combined score won the competition. This was not only a learning and building activity for the company, but it was also a fun day on the water getting to know a little more about each other.

The second event we held was a much larger event where we had to split the company up into two large groups. We traded the activities with each group, so everybody got an equal chance to do everything. One of the activities held was a ten boat regatta where the teams worked together to win the race, while building the unity of their company. While one group was doing the regatta out on the sea, the other group stayed on the docks and particpated in two different workshops. The first workshop was a drum workshop, where the participants learned how to play a different type of drum. They worked together to get the correct drumming patterns and sounds. While some participants were drumming, the others were working together to build a table from scraps of wood, tape, string, cardboard, and more. During the table building workshop, the participants had to work together to make a table out of various materials, and use their heads to think of the best way to make this table as sturdy as possible.

Costa Brava Sail in a charter Sailboat

Costa brava is one of the more beautiful sailing areas around Barcelona and it can be sailed in one week. This beautiful rocky coast begins from Blanes, 24 Nm Barcelona eastwards and spreads out to French border. Costa Brava owes this name mainly its northern part, from L'Escala to Portbou because the area from Blanes to L'Escala has developed.

The unusual beauty of Costa Brava has attracted many famous people who have spent their free time here or created works of literature and painting. The history of the region is very rich and archaeological relics recall the presence of Iberian, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths and Arabs.

Nature was very benevolent for Costa Brava because so many of its gifts can be found on such a small area. Exuberant vegetation comes to the blue and green sea, reaches its shore casting green light on golden beaches or ascends high on rocky cliffs. The annual mean temperature is 16 C but summer is not so hot here due to blowing Tramontana from the north, Garbi from South West, Levante from East and Mediodia from South.

Costa Brava has only 80 Nm but posses 26 ports and 100 anchorages so there is quite a wide selection to choose from. The souther most part of the coast between Blanes and Tossa de Mar is afforested with many coves and is separated by the mountain chain Sierra Las Gevarras reaching the sea from the central part of Costa Brava, named Baix Emporada.

After departure wthe catamaran crew will inform of the safety rules and just after we will open the bar.

• Marine Toys. A range of marine toys for the sailing days which is mandatory to have a swiming
• Snorkeling staff for enjoy the underwater views while the catamaran is ancored in a beach or cala.
• Barbeque on board. The bbq on board is one of our most popular services of the catamaran for incentive travel. The bbq permits the guests enjoy the pleasure of a bbq in the sea with the nice view of Barcelona or Valencia for instance while the boat is sailing feeling the wind and the waves. Ask for our barbecues options on board.
• Boat party's. We can organize parties on board for individual customers or for company groups. We can adapt the catamaran schedule to your proposal .
• Range of Catering We offer a hugh range of catering. On board the catamaran we can offer lunch dinner breakfast or just apeteizer or drinks.
